Klaas's Statement: How Does It Feel

ENGLISH:

Over a year ago, the song "How does it feel" was developed by Klaas and his label in cooperation with a songwriter. The development of the song was an entire team effort with constant dialogue among team members. Once Guru Josh and his publishing company EMI Music felt that this song was a copy of 'Infinity 2008' due to its (typical Klaas) baseline, which Guru Josh believed to be their creation, they decided to take legal actions. Although the text as well as harms of 'How does it feel' are not identical to 'Infinity 2008' and the sound of a baseline a) can't be legally protected and b) was already Klaas's icon before 'Infinity 2008', the songwriter decided to pull out of the project, consequently stopping the release of the 'How does it feel' track. In September 2009, the production team of Michael Mind Project had the idea to release 'How does it feel' as their own song and managed to get the songwriter on board. Klaas as well as his label explicitly communicated their disagreement with the release of 'How does it feel' to Michael Mind Project.

Der Song “How does if feel” wurde vor ca. einem Jahr von Klaas und seinem Label gemeinsam mit einem Songwriter entwickelt. Die Entwicklung fand im Team und im Austausch untereinander statt. Nachdem Guru Josh und sein Verlag EMI Music Publishing hierin eine Kopie des Songs “Infinity 2008” sahen, weil sie der Meinung waren, dass die (typische Klaas) Basslinie nun eine Neuerfindung von Guru Josh sei, drohten sie mit rechtlichen Schritten. Obwohl sowohl Text, als auch Harmonien von “How does it feel” nicht denen von “Infinity 2008” entsprachen und der Sound einer Basslinie a) nicht schutzfähig ist und b) schon vor “Infinity 2008” ein Markenzeichen von Klaas war, entschloss sich der Songwriter seinen Anteil an “How does it feel” zurück zu ziehen, wodurch es zu keiner offiziellen Veröffentlichung kam.

Im September 2009 entschloss sich das Produzententeam von Michael Mind Project, die Idee zu “How does it feel” als eigenen Song zu veröffentlichen und konnten den Songwriter für eine Zusammenarbeit gewinnen.
Sowohl Klaas, als auch sein Label haben sich gegenüber dem Produzententeam von Michael Mind Project ausdrücklich gegen eine Veröffentlichung von “How does it feel” ausgesprochen.
